Labour face evisceration here in the UK. A centrist party cannot lurch so hard to the right without voters abandoning them. Their current course is electoral suicide, and it's possibly already too late.

Labour’s plan risks weakening protections for all of us. Human rights are universal - politicians may not always find them politically convenient but it shouldn’t fall to any government to say who those rights should and should not apply to. Politically hopeless too. If they can't make a positive case re immigration, stop talking about it. Recent poll shows people are not that bothered by immigration as it affects them.

The only way these people think you can counter Reform is by emulating them.

Countering them with facts or a heartfelt defence of our humanitarian obligations has never been an option.
This is as bad as anything proposed by Reform.

Leaving refugees in permanent limbo and unable to build a new life in the UK would be a complete abdication of our humanitarian responsibilities
