"For now, countries like Denmark are pressing ahead with their own climate initiatives, hoping to keep Europe's broader environmental targets on the right path."
Denmark is converting farmland to forest in bid to revive nature – and the EU’s climate ambitions.

The bloc has pledged to slash emissions but environment groups warn that it’s prioritising loopholes over leadership.

Denmark converts farmland to forest in bid to revive nature – and Europe’s climate ambitions
As the European Union pushes for a 90 per cent cut in emissions by 2040, experts say restoring forests could be key to hitting those targets.

Climate change is the world's most pressing issue because it makes everything else worse. It enables dictators, it drives inflation, it makes survival harder for the poorest people in the world.

And the new data are clear: the rate of climate change is accelerating.
Now that the Sept and Oct data are (belatedly) in, it looks like 2025 will be the second warmest year in the record (~80% probability). The last three years are in a class of their own.

Yes the CO2 rise 2023-2024 was faster than we predicted at Mauna Loa and was a record rise there - now the WMO confirm the global mean rise was also a record

Also the rate of CO2 rise is now above the IPCC scenarios that limit global warming to 1.5C

Vaikea kuivakausi on Suomessa ajan kysymys.

Tärkein syy on ylikalastus.

These disasters have cost $2.9 trillion in total and killed nearly 17,000 people.

Don't tell me we "can't afford" to address the climate crisis.

The truth is we can’t afford not to.
