Very cool mixed-method study looking at why individuals are reluctant to get vaccinated

(A health sciences prof once said to me 'There's no point running a trial unless you get some qual data from patients too' and I think this applies to so much psych research. Quant + qual together is great!)

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

Do you have a reputable source for this image? I've seen it doing the rounds, but never found it on any NASA or ESA JWST source.

Here's the only JWST Saturn image I'm aware of (single frequency near-infrared)... which the image in the post seems to be based on.

New paper from NBER: Pandemic resulted in ~1.7M excess deaths.
Premature deaths reduced future retirement payments, which increased Social Security fund by $294B. This gain was offset by reductions in future payroll tax flows and increased payments to survivors, resulting in net impact of $205B.

This is both absurd and dangerous. How can you assess whether a model is working (and not actively harming people) without stratified data?

We know from decades’ worth of experience that QI and payment reforms can have significantly variable impacts.

I just posted that GLP-1s should start to bring down healthcare costs. Well, cutting Medicaid by $880B will drive private healthcare costs way up! Good luck to employers trying to make up that gap!
The House budget resolution calls for a reduction in mandatory spending of $2 trillion over a decade. Much of that could come from Medicaid cuts.

Can confirm that GLP-1s seem poised to dramatically reduce the cost of healthcare. Currently, the savings is being offset by the cost of the drugs. But, assuming prices come down over time (as happened with stations), we should see downward pressure on health cost trends.
Anti-obesity medicines (AOMs) are set to become the biggest selling drugs of all time, and have been shown to significantly reduce mortality from numerous causes of death. They may also indirectly reduce population mortality, by reducing pressure on the NHS. More in 👇.

A serious proposal:

If the Trump administration is going to neglect and eliminate entire US Government functions, Democrats should select a full shadow cabinet to fill the void.

Send an alt SecState to the G20, have an alt CDC Director let us know what’s really going on with Bird Flu and TB, etc.

This is a backdoor. Elon's coders are creating a backdoor into the US Treasury. This is incredibly dangerous both because of its intended use (by Elon and Trump) and the risk of other actors exploiting a major security vulnerability to cause a massive disruption to the US government.
