Finally had a chance to write up the CJEU's Russmedia ruling which appears to make it literally *impossible* to run a website in the EU that allows any user content. I just don't see how compliance is possible. At all. Hat tip to @daphnek.bsky.social for calling it to my attention.

This is a great reminder that accuracy is not only relevant when the right to obtain correction of inaccurate data is exercised, but it is a general principle which must be baked into a product that processes personal data from the outset and proactively. OOOOAAAA

Hold your horses 🐴 The CJEU itself clarifies that having to comply as an online platform with the #GDPR to prevent unlawful processing of sensitive data *is not* an obligation of general monitoring.
It’s right there in the judgment, spelled out, at para 132.
