Hi folks, I'm seeing a lot of "Eyes on Minneapolis" & "We support Minnesota" sentiment. Here's a tangible way you can help:

Trump just suspended federal funding for SNAP benefits to Minnesota. Second Harvest Heartland is an MN-based hunger-relief org.

Please donate what you can.

There is more than enough food for everyone. As one of the nation’s largest hunger relief agencies, it’s our job to make sure healthy, nutritious food gets to the households who need it. Every day, we...

It only took six years. 🙃 Hopefully this finally puts some BS to rest at local hospitals and urgent care centers that are still enthusiastically asking for handwashing and waving flimsy surgicals.

I've seen people saying that the ICE murder in Minneapolis will be a turning point, & I very much hope they're right, but please also remember that ICE murdered Silverio Villegas Gonzalez in suburban Chicago in Sept, video & witnesses put a spotlight on their lies, & it wasn't a turning point.

It's very clear from the commentary exploding on the timeline right now that hardly anyone outside Chicago knows ICE shot and killed a man in his car here in the fall.

It's probably not your fault—too much news.

But if you're choosing to jump in & *report* today, please contextualize. Thanks.

Masks are in again, folks. They should've never gone out of vogue in the first place, but alas. 🙃

A community public health tip: cloth masks don't protect you from covid-19. It has evolved from unchecked spreading. Consider an N95 or KN95 - which you can get in cute colors! 😷
Worried about the surveillance dystopia? There are ways to disguise yourself from facial recognition systems, and it doesn’t require owning clothes with a special design or high-tech gear. @evystadium.bsky.social has more.

First CES panel. Intuit CMO Thomas Ranese is proud of his company's integration with OpenAI, which involves giving AI read/write access to tax data. Since prompt injection attacks are unavoidable, I asked him who will be liable when customer data is exposed: Intuit, OpenAI, etc?

He had no idea.

It is exactly what it looks like.

At the time of the holidays, when folks with long covid are gaslit the most, this would be a good time to ask how they're really doing. Amazing article. #stillsick #longhauler #covid

Americans having to bootleg broadcast news about our government’s offshored concentration camp is a level of fascism that immediately precedes democratic societies dropping leaflets on us from weather balloons.

If anyone wants an idea for a Nazi trap we just had great results with a pride flag planted in over a foot of snow by the road. Some dickwad and his teenage goons tried to swerve off the road and run it over - missed by a long shot and then got stuck. No one was hurt unless you count their egos. 😆

This is an absolute abomination for higher education. More than anything it shows how deep in corporate pockets such institutions are, rather than valuing independent thought and creativity.
It’s been fun while it lasted: “Purdue University will begin requiring that all of its undergraduate students demonstrate basic competency in artificial intelligence starting with freshmen who enter the university in 2026.”

Honestly, none of this THC ban should be surprising. When a government normalises controlling people’s bodily autonomy in one area, it’s only a matter of time before it expands that control elsewhere.
