If Canadians wanted PoiLIEvre involved in trade deals, they would have elected Conservatives to lead Canada.

They didn't.

If Conservative voters had wanted PoiLIEvre in charge of anything, they would have elected him in Carleton.

They didn't.

Rep. Ted Lieu is so good at this.

The image is an X post by Rep. Ted Lieu (@RepTedLieu
) from 3 hours ago, with the caption "Hmmm... weird." The post includes a meme with three panels. The first panel, labeled "Republicans when they have to vote on the Epstein files," shows an empty hallway with an American flag. The second panel, labeled "Republicans when there's a government shutdown," shows an empty conference room. The third panel, labeled "Republicans when it's time to cut taxes for billionaires," shows a group of people clapping and cheering.

Yup, Smith pushed away billions of dollars in renewable energy projects. Another indicator of her cozy relationship with oil &gas higher ups. The same ones who have gone silent carbon capture.
But hey, lets give away $14M of taxpayer money for a study of a pipeline to work with billion dollar comp.🤯

Trump hates to be the object of humor. He understands that humor can be a more powerful antidote to tyranny than any other form of criticism.

I'm sure he'd hate it if you shared this cartoon. [Cartoon by Jon Adams/The New Yorker]

Completely deplorable behaviour. The aggressors hide behind masks because they know their behaviours are 💯 illegal.

I honestly believe that we should put aside 25 & 50 year weather trends and focus more on a shorter period. I'll suggest 2015 because wildfires began to increase dramatically a few years later. Here in Canada that briefer timeline would resonate better with those keeping an eye on weather trends.

The 14M dollars Smith has committed to a pipeline going nowhere would cover the entire cost of COVID vaccines.
Smith likes to day "saving taxpayer dollars" to justify her decision yet she never hesitate to spend huge amounts on pet projects: multiple panels, Dynalife fiasco, bloated govt, etc.
javaben.bsky.social
Poster pinpoints the reality of Republicans in office.
javaben.bsky.social
Someone needs to Smith about that total cost of all the panels she has set in the first two years of her term.
Then ask ask her the total amount paid in salaries for her bloated govt.
Add that to the $16M for design work on a pipeline that will never be built.
Smith says "to save money" often. 🤔

If Alberta is the proponent (as the GoA press release promises) then our at risk $$ won't be just a few millions they will be in the billions.
The pipeline companies & producers have called Premier Smith's bluff and she's gambling with our money, not hers.
An easy game to play.

Danielle Smith says Alberta can not afford free Covid shots for everyone. Meanwhile she is shelling millions on a study of a new pipeline that the private sector should be paying for. Screw you Smith.

Assuming this info is accurate, it only underlines the fact that just about all shooters in the U.S. are Caucasians. No talk from the govt about who the real criminals are. Certainly no talk about ICE agents or their equivalent searching out these people.
Gun culture rules again.

The U.S. is quickly reaching the point where the every day working American will not have enough money to purchase goods produced by companies owned by top 10%.
rbreich.bsky.social
The biggest divide is not between “right” and “left." It’s between democracy and oligarchy. The billionaires who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us. They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see that they have all the wealth and power.

The top 10% now hold 67.4% of all the wealth in the US.

The bottom 50% hold 2.5%.

Separatism is now in the Overton window in Alberta. Our latest research confirms the debate has entered the realm of acceptable discourse in the province.

Doesn't this political cartoon capture key elements of the current state of the American federal govt.
Even sadder, this spineless congress allows this to happen.

This regime with its masked agents terrorizing whole communities is the problem, not “Democrats.”
The image shows an X post exchange. User @micah_erfan questions the narrative around immigrants being shot by ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) during transfer to a mass internment camp, asking if ICE agents are being portrayed as victims. In response, @PressSec (Karoline Leavitt) defends ICE agents, calling them heroic men and women doing their jobs to keep Americans safe, and urges Democrats to stop demonizing them. The post includes a graphic with the text "I STAND WITH ICE" and the Department of Homeland Security logo.

Here in AB transportation minister banned radar cameras. Speeding now off the charts on highways and main feeders in Calgary region.
Even though accident rate has increased not a word from minister Dreeshen, or any other govt officials.
Govt killed the "cash cow" & replaced it with exp health care.🤯

This is another Doug Ford political stunt & wedge issue, like removing safe & successful bike-infrastructure in Toronto, THAT WILL KILL PEOPLE. He and his Ministers and MPPs will be undeniably responsible for kids, families, people dying.

Doug Ford likes to talk tough about Trump, but he IS Trump.
Doug Ford will outlaw municipal speed cameras this fall: Sources
Sources say Ford's Progressive Conservatives will table legislation later this fall to outlaw the "automated speed enforcement" devices.

Ideal outcome: federal employees who were pushed out landed good paying jobs and can now say "over my dead body" it something more emphatic.

Note: no disrespect towards anyone accepting to return to previous govt position.

Pluralists engage the public to forge the public good.

Populists tell the public what's in the public interest and manufacture consent.

That's what makes the AlbertaNext process so unique compared to previous roadshows, like the Fair Deal Panel.

I couldn't agree more, kids need the opportunity to explore on their own in a safe environment.
Unfortunately, there are so many crazies out there ( speeding drivers, pedophiles, ...) that parents simply won't take the risk of children being unsupervised. And rightly so.
yyc-david.bsky.social
I feel like kids are often left out of the discourse on bike lanes, especially in the media. Children have had enough of their independence stripped; there should be a focus on returning that. Bike lanes are a great tool.
