I'm going to go on a limb and say that no one cares if policymakers ask dumb questions about tech. We'd actually love if they did that. The problem is they seldom ask and then make policy decisions without understanding the tech or believing they should ask first. Or they ask the wrong people.

It would make for better policymaking if politicians understood tech better. For that to happen they have to be allowed to ask basic questions and not be mocked for it, fun though that can be
