Once the legal precedence is established to answer the question "is a sandwich a weapon?" it is only a matter of time until the courts must answer "is a hot dog a sandwich weapon?"1

Buddy, I can see mountains reflected in the eyes of a trailside pika.

in a sane world, meta would be shut down and dismantled for parts for this
This is bonkers.

my earliest memory of going to a movie theater is seeing the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie on release weekend with a handful of my friends for my 6th birthday party. Cowabunga!

The Erie canal was built before Chicago was incorporated, and it was the existence of the Erie canal that helped Chicago become a major city lmfao
This man has zero idea what the fuck he's talking about. Eat shit and stay away from Chicago.

In the past month NYT has published 32 articles that mention Mamdani and “globalize the intifada", 13 that mention Israel's fake "aid" agency that's killed 800+, 5 on Israel's starvation campaign and two that mention, in passing, child amputees in Gaza. I argue this is makes no sense and is depraved
Child Amputees, Aid Massacres, Mass Starvation—the Israeli War Crimes NYT Covers Less than Mamdani and 'Globalize the Intifada'
Theoretical, third order, speculative violence must be condemned while actual, real world mass violence, that actually exists in reality, is seen as normal and unworthy of sustained coverage.

The saga of the NYT's anti-Mamdani story taken from notorious white supremacist Jordan Lasker (they call him an "academic") gets even more amazing: Lasker's only impactful paper, which claimed white people are smarter, is infamous: it misused data so badly it got his tenured co-author fired. 2/

I wonder if some day the conversations about remote vs in person work for software development teams will have a realization about how elegantly mob/ensemble programming just kind of makes much of the debate just ... dissolve away
I'm a diehard remote person, but... The second half of this ^ is very true.

I'm convinced teamwork needs micro-communication. Like, imagine trying to cook a stew in the same kitchen as everyone and not being able to ask the other people how small they're cutting their vegetables.

Am I the only one that uses Keep for it's intended purpose? (Quick notes and shopping lists?)
Google really has an entire app called Keep that only exists because you can't download images from a Google Doc. WTF ?!?

This piece by the inimitable David Roth (of the non Van Halen variety) is worth your time to read (as is the Nolan Hamilton piece he cited at the end)

So good at articulating how plainly we can see that Trump is fundamentally broken while continuing to squirm right through it all

I can't remember the last time I saw an article just focus on this. Not that they've bent the truth or misrepresented a few facts a little, but that every single solitary thing that the GOP says on the topic is a stone cold lie with absolutely no basis in reality.

A sickeningly grim move for the already cruel punishment we dole out for crime of being poor.

Remember: they also don't let you save up any money when you're on SSI
At 5 pm Fri, the Social Security Admin announced that it will withhold the *entire* Social Security benefits of overpaid seniors & people w/disabilities, even if not their fault—reversing a Biden-era reform that limited repayment to 10% of the monthly benefit.

This will cause needless suffering.
