I spoke with CKNW about the new legislation I introduced this week: the Sexual Violence Policy Act.

This legislation is about making BC’s post-secondary campuses safer for all and strengthening student consultation, increasing transparency, and ensuring policies are survivor-centred.

BC has billions in shovel-ready projects ready to go.

Instead of real jobs for our province, the BC Conservatives are standing up for themselves, infighting and Alberta politics.

We’ll continue to ignore the noise and deliver for this province and country.

Seven people have now been charged in connection with the ongoing crackdown on extortion-related crimes - a major step forward in these investigations.

These charges send a message: those targeting families and businesses with violence and intimidation will face consequences.

👷‍♂️🏗👷‍♀️ Prompt pay legislation has landed in BC! Prompt pay legislation helps ensure that the work done to build a project is respected. At its foundation, this is about fairness for the construction industry — an industry that has built our province & powered our economy.

Most parents don’t work 9-3 and may end up scrambling to pick up their kids after school.

We’ve introduced legislation that, if passed, would allow school districts to offer seamless child care before and after school, on school grounds.

Today, I introduced the Sexual Violence Policy Act, strengthening how B.C.’s public post-secondary institutions prevent and respond to sexual violence.

We’re taking action to build safer campuses where everyone feels supported and protected.

Exciting news for UVIC! Over 500 new student beds designed for upper-year & grad students who face real challenges finding housing near campus. This investment means more students can live where they learn, stay connected to supports, and focus on what matters: their education.

🎓🏗️ More student housing is coming to @uvic.ca! Over 500 new on-campus beds are approved for upper-year and grad students. This progress gives more students the chance to call UVic home while easing pressure on the local rental market. news.gov.bc.ca/32860

As British Columbians we love our coast and will always protect it.

The North Coast Tanker Ban also secures billions in shovel-ready projects.

We won’t let this proposal, with no backer and no money, threaten real jobs for BC’s families.

Today, on #NationalDayforTruthandReconciliation, we reflect on the painful legacy of residential schools and their lasting impact on survivors, families, and communities.

We carry the responsibility to learn, listen and act, to advance reconciliation and build a more just B.C. #EveryChildMatters 🧡

Welcome home, NIC students!

Today we celebrate the opening of tul’al’txw Student Housing at North Island College - 217 beds, including family suites and accessible units.

More than student housing, this is reconciliation, sustainability, and a home where students can connect, grow, and learn.

Post-secondary education here at home, right in our community.

This announcement means so much for Langford. The grand opening of the Royal Roads John Horgan Campus is the start of a new chapter for all of us.

I am so proud to see this project come to life.
