The problem has never been Trump, horrible as he is. The problem is that 77 million Americans wanted him to be president. That won't change when he's gone.

Don't feel bad for the farmers. They knew full well that Trump's policies would hurt them. They also knew he would use taxpayer money to bail them out, just as he did in his first term.
The rest of the country has to bail out Trump voters again after he crushed them with his policies. bsky.app/profile/acyn...
Trump: We are going to be giving and providing it to the farmers in economic assistance. Farmers like me based on voting trends. So we are going to use that money to provide $12 billion in economic assistance to American farmers. $12 billion is a lot of money

Haven't economists credited Henry Ford with a major contribution to the economy by paying his own workers enough to buy a Ford? He certainly didn't do it out of good will.
Around 70% of the U.S. economy depends on consumer spending. As wealth concentrates in the richest 10%, the rest of America can’t afford to buy enough to keep the economy running. This is a huge problem — and even America’s most powerful CEOs are starting to sound the alarm.
Our Economy Is in Danger. Here’s Why

I'm convinced that Tema Chawinga's greatest difference for KC is that when she's out, other teams think they can win

Amen! Also, can the announcers sometimes stop chatting to mention what's happening on the field?
Please NWSL broadcasters, I beg you, offer a "so you actually LIKE soccer???" alt-cast that is focused on presenting the visual and audio info needed to watch soccer, with no extra distractions.

Let me see clearly who has been substituted or booked! Save me from pre-filmed in-game distractions!

And MAGA is perfectly happy with this.

God's own truth
When authoritarianism is on the rise, you can count on the richest, least vulnerable men on the planet to be the biggest cowards.

To be fair, Donald Trump shouldn't be allowed on American soil either

The fact that Lincoln was the exception makes him even more remarkable.
The speechwriter thing is silly. Nearly every president has had speechwriters. The whole conceit of having a speechwriter is that the speechwriter doesn't get public credit.

My take on Ricketts' play with the Spirit has been "energetic but not terribly effective". If she finds a team where she plays regularly in a system suited to her, there's no reason she can't have a long and successful career. She's still quite young.
Ricketts remains under contract through the rest of 2025, and can pursue a free agent deal elsewhere in #NWSL starting on July 1.

Not surprising. After all, blowing stuff up is what Elon does with our tax money.

The president Trump most reminds me of is Woodrow Wilson -after the stroke.

I think it's long past time we stopped pretending that anyone associated with Trump has principles.
In 2017, JD Vance repeatedly excoriated the type of Medicaid cuts that Republicans are now pursuing, casting them as a huge betrayal of Trump voters. How Vance responds to the GOP bill now is a major test of his stated principles.

Details in my new piece:

JD Vance’s Surprise Admission About Trump, Medicaid Boomerangs on Him
The veep once excoriated Republicans over deep Medicaid cuts. Where he lands today will tell us much about his character—and the true goals of Trumpism.

What's the Guinness book world record for bribes?
Since I administered the WH emoluments rules, let me explain why this is forbidden

Trump expressed interest in it before it was offered

He is going to use & benefit from it a while in office

And he's going to keep using it after he leaves!

Functionally, it's a gift to him & so it's illegal
Overseeing the presidential gift rules was among my duties as White House Ethics Czar -- so I know how it's supposed to work

The gift of this plane to Trump is illegal & unconstitutional

The AG & the WH Counsel oughtta be ashamed of themselves for allowing it

Thank you, Captain Obvious. The real question is, what do you and the other Senate Democrats intend to do about it? If anything.
Article I, Section 9, Clause 8:

“no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”

A quick reminder - "arrest" and "deportation" are law enforcement procedures which must conform to standards prescribed by law. To describe the current activity towards immigrants by the DOJ, please use the appropriate terms "kidnapping" and "human trafficing". Thank you.

This is why cavalry historically always rode horses. Horses can be trained to run into combat. Does this make horses smarter or dumber than donkeys and mules? Of course, none of the animals volunteered for this duty.
One of the downsides of using donkeys at the front, humanity aside, is that they get scared by explosions and start running away.

I hate to say it, but I fear that the best result we can reasonably expect is that, after Republicans are done destroying the economy (again), 2028 is 1932 redux, ushering in 30 years of progressive Democratic governance. But this will mean most of the population suffering for years.
