Susan Collins sees a 2-year extension as a "glidepath off" ACA subsidies. If this GOP plan passes, she's likely to run for reelection claiming she saved a gov't program she's planning to vote against in 2 years' time (after she's secured her seat). #mepolitics www.mainepublic.org/health/2025-...

Meanwhile Supreme Court: but we just can't make any changes in Texas on this eve to the November 2026 election
Utah lawmakers are planning to convene in an unexpected special session this Tuesday. Why? To move the filing deadline for congressional candidates, to give the GOP more time to appeal the ruling that created a Dem seat.

Unlike most vaccine-preventable diseases, hepatitis B is asymptomatic and spreads silently until infected people develop liver cancer or cirrhosis in their midlife. It’s one of the cancers with the highest mortality in the U.S with a 6 month life expectancy.

Ironically, I found relief this week from news of the world in Paulette Jiles's "News of the World." The novel was a 2016 Nat'l Book Award finalist. It's an old-fashioned, well-written, big-hearted book. #BookSky

Anti-abortion groups are pushing to ban abortion coverage for anyone who gets tax credits to pay for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.

If Congress caves, this would be the first federal ban on private insurance coverage of abortion, and could push care out of reach for millions.
The big sticking point in the White House’s health care proposal
For many GOP members, an expansion of abortion restrictions in Obamacare is a must-have in any tentative health care plan.
