I'm a big fan of central bank independence. So the attempt to fire Lisa Cook is a big deal. I'm sure a Trump controlled monetary policy, aided by Trump controlled statistics, will be much worse and more volatile. But much more important is the threat to the rule of law and institutions generally.

Anyone would think that it was UKRAINE that unlawfully invaded Russia. Not the other way around.

Trump has not guaranteed that he will put sanctions on Russia in 50 days, he has offered Putin protection against additional sanctions for 50 days. And he can always extend beyond that.
