One good thing about me is that my brain works and I don't fall for Orwellian, propaganda nonsense like this.

The Israelis are breaking the ceasefire and NBC News is actively running interference to support the Israeli government (as are most other American corporate media outlets).

This morning, Instacart announced it will end its use of AI-powered pricing experiments following our report with @moreperfectunion.bsky.social & @consumerreports.org.
BREAKING: Instacart is ending all price testing on its platform in the wake of this report.
EXCLUSIVE: We found that Instacart is using AI algorithms to charge customers different prices for the same items.

It's not just online. It's in physical grocery stores too.

Our months-long investigation with @consumerreports.org and @groundwork.bsky.social found it could cost families $1200/year.

well. let’s treat politicians as politicians, not as celebrities. no matter how relatable or promising they seem. i would like them to carry out what they’ve promised to the people, for the better of the majority than profit and corporations

history repeats itself. it’s like the aids epidemic again
sometimes it will just hit me that over a million americans died from covid in a short period of time and we never had a national mourning. we never collectively grieved. we never honored the dead. this feels like a failure

Free public transit AND free childcare?? New Mexico 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Today, New Mexico launched its universal childcare initiative. Last month I wrote about it for Roosevelt Institute -- historic state endeavors like this should show lawmakers at all levels of government that Americans are sick and tired of waiting for bold action on childcare. shorturl.at/Sm2tZ

If you need to find your local food bank or community fridge—to give or receive support—I've linked national resources as well as NY and LA specific resources in this note.

Also, lots of links to support kids' understanding of food insecurity and ways they can participate in community care.

Your ability to eat should not depend on your productivity

Your ability to get healthcare should not depend on your productivity

Your ability to get housing should not depend on your productivity

Saying “be more productive!” To those who are struggling devalues human life.

It aids fascism.

Same thing is happening in DC and elsewhere. No one wants to eat out or go shopping when you could be grabbed by ICE or watch your neighbors get grabbed. It’s traumatic. #ICEssion
ICE presence in Chicago has hurt the local economies in immigrant communities — which could in turn put a financial strain on the city at large.

The only thing that has slowed ICE down is people going out blowing whistles, confronting agents, and running them off. I don’t see any tangible ways court orders have slowed them down. They don’t work within the bounds of law so laws doesn’t stop them.
