Passionate about LGBTQ2S+, climate change, environmental crises; Indigenous progress (Cree Kokum). Majority of my time on these. Love hitting the hills to "go sane."
There has been back-and-forthing about whether the AMOC is stalling out with precipitous consequences. This latest study goes slightly further afield in location & finds Bad News is in the offing.

Cultural heritage and local knowledge can be powerful levers for climate resilience and should be embedded into policies, planning and finance.

#Carney is showing Poilievre how to smoothly bamboozle Canadians while ripping off workers' jobs, citizens' privacy, Indigenous rights, supporting Israel's genocide & enormously increasing Canada's GHG emissions!
This is no longer the Liberal Party of Lester Pearson!

Few American cities are more vulnerable to sea level rise than New York City. The coastal community of Edgemere, Queens was among the hardest-hit during Superstorm Sandy. A decade later, residents still wait for promised flood protections.

It's no coincidence that those struggling to accept the truth about climate change are often the same people struggling to accept immigration is just part of how the world works and are often the same people struggling to accept that some people are born gay or trans and that's part of human nature.

As always, I'm surprised that talk of our interconnected European and Mediterranean relationship and security omits mention of climate change impacts and the absolutely catastrophic situation that will affect North Africa in the coming decades: tens of millions of displaced people forced to migrate.

A little pet peeve. It’s not exactly that tropical rainforests have “gone from being allies in the fight against climate breakdown to being part of the problem.” Forests lose carbon when people cut them (or via fire) and gain carbon when trees grow. It’s that the losing is outweighing the gaining.
Africa’s forests transformed from carbon sink to carbon source, study finds
Alarming shift since 2010 means planet’s three main rainforest regions now contribute to climate breakdown
