Ah I see it was an elaborate plan to bankrupt Cricket Australia
Just weeks after forecasting a record year ahead, Cricket Australia is facing a multi-million dollar drain from the rapid-fire two-day Ashes opener
Two-day Test could cost Cricket Australia millions
CA had earmarked the Ashes to help balance the budget but if short Tests become the theme it may prove difficult

Sorry but 19 wickets falling in a day is far too exciting. Can we bore it up a bit?

I guess I am blessed to be registered to vote in a place where the Tories (and Reform) barely scrape past 15% so don’t have to deal with the ethical implications of voting for this Labour Party…

I argued about this with people back home and apparently ‘I don’t understand’

But I only studied modules on migration, citizenship and identity at Loughborough University rather than ‘send ‘em all back studies’ at the University of life…
At the very least the Starmer government needs to be honest with itself and voters that any asylum and refugee policy that hinges on the ability to declare post-conflict states as safe will need an increase in EU/UK development and military aid to those states.

Renewable energy has lefty vibes and so we are going to gut it in favour of AI which is right-wing coded if significantly less useful, and reliant on the energy generation we're going to fail to deliver now because: see start of this sentence.

Still, how owned are the libs?
I'm kind of baffled how the "moderates" have apparently all decided to turn against climate policy at once, just as China reaches green electrostate liftoff mode. I thought these people were all about National Greatness and making Hard Choices

"But what if this erodes the norms of using the justice system against one's political enemies?"

"Oh, you mean the norm whereby President Biden's justice department indicted his son while slow-rolling any prosecution of Trump until it's too late, only for Trump to win and prosecute his enemies?"

Another set of Conservatives that had the opportunity to do the right thing for the future and decided it was too hard and sold out everything for more power....
Today, the conservatives (EPP) passed a major piece of EU legislation with the far-right groups in the EU Parliament, marking the breakdown of the cordon sanitaire. The EPP, under Weber, has decided to sacrifice long-term principles and stability for short-term political gains.
