"Do not accept brutality and cruelty as normal even if it is sanctioned. Protect the vulnerable and encourage the afraid. If you are brave, stand up for others. If you cannot be brave – and it is often hard to be brave – be kind." Sarah Kendzior

There is much to love about NE Ohio Regional Sewer District (this from a resident of a neighboring sewer maintenance division).
it's not a holiday hotline. but maybe it's a hope line.

New: cops used Flock AI-enabled cameras to monitor No Kings protests around the country. Also monitored No Hands protests and protests against DOGE.

"Should serve as a warning of how it may be used in the future to suppress dissent."

Cops Used Flock to Monitor No Kings Protests Around the Country
A massive cache of Flock lookups collated by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) shows as many as 50 federal, state, and local agencies used Flock during protests over the last year.

When DHS dared to call its anti-immigrant racial profiling weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina, “Operation Charlotte’s Web,” I knew I was going to have to write about it.

Tonight, at Law Dork, here it is: www.lawdork.com/p/gregory-bo...

NEW: Gregory Bovino is exactly who E.B. White — author of 'Charlotte's Web' — warned us about.

DHS named its North Carolina anti-immigrant effort "Operation Charlotte's Web." In 1940, White wrote of the "smell" that "rises" from those who "adjust to fascism" over freedom.

As a beekeeper, I've been thinking a lot about the terrifying collective power of honeybees. When you are in the colony and you piss off 40k or 100k divas who will move AS ONE against you...one cannot help but think of how we could look to the bee for wisdom on collective resistance.

Lots going on but from outside it seems that at least part of the calculus was that flight disruption for middle class and up travelers matters more than life disruption for untold numbers who’ll be deprived of health care.

SNAP benefits are currently being held hostage by the Trump administration and their fate now lies with the Supreme Court.

Beneath the legal arguments are real people who simply need food—a former federal worker, a single mother of 4, a disabled man. I spoke to them. Here are their stories:
The voices of SNAP
Recipients have become political pawns. They explained, in their own words, what Trump withholding funds has been like.

I wrote about tonight's amazing news!
"We should celebrate the election results. They have the potential to bring a sea change. We can look to these races for strategies in the next year and beyond. But it’s worth remembering that what happened today is just the wave. *We* are the water."
Just a wave, not the water
Hooray! Still, winning elections is only the first step.

Trick. . . or treat? Though it appears to be a Shaggy Parasol Mushroom, Chlorophyllum rhacodes, in the garden, some deception might be afoot. C. molybdites, the False Parasol, is a look alike. AKA the Vomiter Mushroom - not fatal, but victims can expect to feel like death.
