Such a man.
The most extraordinary thing about James Harrison, who donated his rare plasma every 2 weeks for over 60 years and saved the lives of an estimated 2.4 million babies, is that he had to overcome a FEAR OF NEEDLES.

There are many examples of transmasc monks from the early centuries of Christianity. One of my favourites is Pelagius who a) is a former sex worker, and b) named himself after a Welshman.

BEHOLD! One of Earth's greatest lineages of life: the lil wiggle arm guys, Meteora.

These single-celled critters, originally found in deep-sea sediments, are SO DIFFERENT from other lifeforms on Earth that they're likely in their own kingdom (as in, the Animal Kingdom, the Plant Kingdom etc). 🧪🌿

Good overview of how clothing manufacturing became enshittified. I've been buying old Coldwater Creek clothes from early 2000s on second hand clothing sites because I remember the quality being so much better then. I was not mistaken. youtu.be/jCwbU41Icfw?...

There is nothing that gets my red flag meter going quite like men saying things like "it was hard meeting women because I was interested in (insert nerdy thing here)" when I have distinct memories of certain kinds of men in nerdy thing specifically and repeatedly excluding me from nerdy thing.

What I learned was that "process" is a guardrail. It is vital for safety and can mitigate accidents, but it will not stop someone determined to drive the car off the cliff.

Companies and nations need to recognize what kinds of problems they have.

You cannot use process to solve a people problem.

"Your attention has become a commodity."

Our labor is no longer the most valuable commodity we command. It's our attention.

We can't control a lot of things in this world, but we can choose where we focus our attention.

And what we focus on is everything

The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

I am a work in progress, and am at a weird point in life that could be over, as I said, in six weeks. So I am acting like it will be over in six weeks, and doubling down on shit my actual working class French grandmother would have done: which is maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. And thrifting😆

I'm looking at house maintenance tasks and looking at CHEAPEST option to fix it. Do we need a $50k kitchen remodel we got into further debt for... Or can we reorganize existing space and refinish the countertops for $1300 and get a microwave not held together with tape?? One of these is sane option
