Does the calculation change if we entertain the possibility that Trump might win? A win for the BBC could offset damages. Alternatively, UK Gov ordering the BBC not to enforce judgment might be diplomatically valuable.

musing on this today, a lot of the reluctance of adults to social media is because their kids are not doing what the parent did when they were a kid. and so their parents before them.
