O’Brien et al. find that visual exposure to green light reduced joint pain in osteoarthritic rats independent of nociceptor activity. Analgesic endolipids were upregulated, suggesting involvement of the endocannabinoid system. Learn more in #PAIN bit.ly/3S2xpe3

This is what’s at stake. My lab is full of young brilliant scientists who deserve the chance to make a difference in the world. Shutting them out is the dumbest move we can make. We need to rescue American science from these monsters.

Really important piece to share widely. Too many Americans don’t know how severe a threat this Administration poses to our scientific infrastructure, global leadership, and health security

These are shocking graphs. We are being strangled by our own government. It is notable that the consistent message has been that us researchers are somehow doing a disservice to the American people, sitting on this money getting fat from the largesse. In fact, we are focused on discovery and cures.

See this chart for one stark example: NIH funding has dramatically slowed down.

Grant awards are down *$3 billion* so far, compared to same time period last year

I asked the White House to explain.

“This is not a researcher entitlement program,” said an official, defending their new approach.
