The internet was better when it had more than 10 websites. You didn't need to be a brain surgeon to avoid viruses and malware.
I can’t believe we’re doing nostalgia for this stuff
a lot of people are really determined to forget how wildly hostile the internet was before locked down OSes, aggressive sandboxing, mandatory-ish codesigning, forced security updates, etc got malware somewhat under control

Nicotine and Sativa are both dopaminergic, yet they're not bad substances to use for E.M.D.R stimulation therapy, as in an E.M.D.R app that provides tactile feedback responses to either brain hemisphere. It's overall experimental as that really acts on specific Brodmann areas.

Thanks Mental Health.

Wearing a respirator mask to keep yourself and your household safe from airborne diseases should not require justification. The desire to remain as healthy and safe as possible is fundamental to human survival. No one should be mocked for it. Cruelty is a sign of weakness.

Calling her woman instead of pejoratives as part of your internal dialog will help you reverse any misogyny experience.

Likewise calling him man instead of a pejorative will help reverse any misandry experienced.

How to Deal with 'Paperclipping,' a Toxic Dating Trend
Has someone been periodically messaging you short questions like "How you doing?" without engaging in longer and deeper conversations? Well, that person may be"paperclipping" you.

"This is not 1824. It is 2024. We have the technology and knowledge to mitigate disease spread. Let’s fight for a future that is safer, better, and healthier than the world we grew up in, rather than sicker, crueler, and technologically regressed."

Love a good metaphor!

“Your immune system has a mugshot of the virus…
A couple mutations might be [like] the criminal in your mug shot putting on a wig. But the Delta variant had 12+ mutations. Omicron had 30+. That starts to be more similar to a full body makeover complete w/ nose job and BBL.”
👇
In this piece I unpack what a variant is, why vaccines alone can't end the pandemic, and how the goalposts of "victory" over COVID keep shifting.

"Forever reinfections" was never the goal of our COVID response. But it is certainly the outcome

www.thegauntlet.news/p/does-the-p...
Does the public understand that "variant" means "vaccine resistant"?
Getting boosted is critical because the virus is changing. Other forms of mitigation are critical to slow the rate of change.

Covid feed update!:

- "Wear a mask" now requires "covid" or "variant" to also be present in the post.
- "Covid is not over" added.
- Plurals fixed

Also, considering changing it (if able to) to "Covid Conscious" instead of "Covid Cautious"... feels more accurate (both being aware & and contentious)

Think I'm alone in the middle of nature? Nope. Standing near a wetlands on the side of a neighborhood suburban road. Not pictured: the 1/2 dozen people walking by me in the 10 seconds it took me to take this pic. And an offleash dog running up to me. This is why I mask up. 😷

legit terrified of this happening to me at a protest

aside from long covid; almost died from tear gas already once
COVID killed people in prisons at disproportionately higher rates, and has been the leading cause of US police deaths over the last few years. Yet, police officers are ripping masks off protestors.

If you live in a red state, your outreach is especially important! We badly need bipartisan support to make this happen.

Long Covid cuts across party lines, and our representation in Congress on this issue should too!
Appropriations season in Congress is underway and LongCovidMoonshot.com has a campaign for that!

Use the LCM scripts to call or email (or both!) to ask your Senators to sign onto a letter *by May 7* requesting $1.21b in Long Covid funding in FY25!

Then more to come the following week!
