Either our media has amnesia or they’re just plain complicit in their elevation of Reform. Have they forgotten what happened with our last two populist right wing prime ministers? The chaos of Johnson. The disaster of Truss (praised by Farage). This lack of reporting is a menace

As this @yorkshirepost.co.uk letter argues: it’s time to revisit the mandate.

Labour are launching an investigation into historical foreign interference in UK politics. But they are explicitly excluding the Brexit referendum from the investigation.

That's like pledging to investigate instances of arson while ignoring the wall of flames spanning the horizon.

The tide really seems to be changing on Brexit. The government is finally admitting the immense damage it has done to us. But is still only taking baby steps to deal with it. So it’s time, this summer, to get millions of pro Europeans back on the streets to say we demand faster substantial action! 🇪🇺

I can’t help thinking that when, in future, people ask what UK political leaders said as it became undeniable that US saw European liberal democracy as its no1 strategic foe, Starmer and others will regret that the answer is “not much, shuffled awkwardly, looked at their feet”.

By appeasing the far right, you do not weaken it. You strengthen it.
While weakening your own position.
