This is a crucial line from Mamdani

Mike Johnson-for one-is very polite. Yet his policies will likely kill millions of Americans. Cutting Medicaid and failing to extend the ACA subsidies alone will cause over 51,000 to die. Per year

He should be forever hiding in shame. Instead-he’s House Speaker

Block Club reporters were there every day as immigration agents teargassed, shot, violently arrested & separated Chicagoans from their families.

Bolstered by hours of video analysis & hundreds of documents, "Chicago Under Siege" is the record of what happened.

A lot of once-unionized journalists have been forced to go independent on a bunch of platforms so we will have to organize the people on the platforms. I predict.

We know Starbucks has the money - CEO Brian Niccol was paid $96 million for just 4 months of work. In fact, Starbucks has the highest CEO-to-worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500. That’s not normal!

We have officially been on our unfair labor practice strike for one month. And in that month, 1000s of baristas in nearly 150 cities have joined together with allies, community leaders, and elected officials - all to tell Starbucks with one unified voice “NO CONTRACT, NO COFFEE.”

The vibe shift today is, I think, due to the fact that New Yorkers were on the offensive instead of the defensive.

Usually with protests, demonstrators have to defend the space, defend their right to march, etc. They get beat up and pushed around and antagonized into chaos and trauma.

Reporters who fact-check Trump to his face are not “stupid”, they are not “piggies”, and they are not “ugly”. They are doing their jobs, and doing it under pressure most of us will never experience.

We should be grateful for their service. I appreciate their courage now more than ever.

I love that Zohran did not praise Cuomo in his speech. You absolutely do not have to say nice things about bad people. We should normalize that in “polite” politics: Praising bad people is not actually “civility.”
