It's very cool to do cool stuff and then not talk about it!

You know who wants you to share everything you do on social media?
1) cops
2) social media ceos
3) judgey people who think if they don't hear about your activism it doesn't count
4) cops again but this time it's feds
1. Stop assuming people announce all their activism on social media.

2. Stop demanding people announce all their activism on social media.

3. Stop deriding people for not announcing all their activism on social media.

4. Dunking on people on social media isn't activism and isn't praxis.

The way this works is that you either defend Khalil's First Amendment rights, no matter what you think about his specific views, or else you acquiesce to a totalitarian dystopia where the government can disappear people for expressing opinions opposed by the regime. There's really no middle ground.
Good piece on many university presidents' cowardly refusal to speak out against the Trump administration's ghastly, unlawful abduction and detention of Mahmoud Khalil in retaliation against his constitutionally protected speech. No surprise, but a shame nonetheless. slate.com/life/2025/03...
Why Isn’t the Entire Country Terrified by the Arrest of Mahmoud Khalil?
Universities are running scared. But this is no time to be timid.

Still more January daily doodles in my #travelersnotebook. This also makes me realize how hard good alt text is. I’m pretty sure “lil blob guy” is not helpful. Anyone have tips for describing kind of derpy things?

So weaponizing AI even further is REAL bad - especially as AI is REALLY GOOD at internalizing racism, sexism, and pretty much every other -ism that involves targeting marginalized people.

More #travelersnotebook doodles from January!

If a book has preprinted dates, my brain gets mad if I don’t keep up. Last year was a daily journal in a #hobonichi which I’m still doing. Harnessing this quirk in 2025 to do a little doodle a day in a passport sized #travelersnotebook.

If you’re doom scrolling about the funding fuckery and have the means - take ten minutes to find and set up a reoccurring donation to your local mutual aid network or other services protecting vulnerable folks in your area directly. Community care is essential when instability ramps up.
