Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.

This a million times. Denial never really changes, just shifts to update its language with new discoveries and new terminology. We see the same with evolution and HIV denial. Plus, people were sick of antivaxxers even in the late 1800s.

Soviet economic and political history is enormously fascinating. It is unfortunately shaped by campists and anti-communists, both of whom don't actually seem to care about the reality of the Soviet system
The problem with saying "USSR bad, everything they ever did was bad, they are so bad that even discussing facts about them should be illegal" is that 1) it's easy to kneejerk to "Everything the USSR did was good", and 2) we can't have a meaningful discussion about actual Soviet policy on things.

I find it terrifying that people (men) think they are falling in love with AI chat bots.
The desire for a romantic object that does not exist outside of your interactions with you and has no purpose other than to secure and maintain your attention is the purest distillation of misogyny.
