LET THEM EAT BALLROOM

One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.

Fun fact! We could be using the $75 billion allocated for ICE on literally anything else! Like essential services that help people exist! It’s almost as if these issues + our priorities have a lot of overlap!

Also people definitely can’t afford things if they get shot in the face!

1. This is pathetic. "Were gonna focus on one thing and one thing only" is not a platform. It's a capitulation.

2. "Democrats are ready to get to work" - The affordability crisis has been going on for years now. We're just starting the plan now?

3. The plan can't be that Trump is terrible.

How is it that no one knows what the official Dem position or plan is on any of these?

This fool actually said, "a piece of broccoli..."

Also, what kinda fucked up tacos is this lady making with one piece of broccoli and "one other thing."
Brooke Rollins: "We've run over 1,000 simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing. So there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money."

Incredible that the Democrats now have their own Joe the Plumber only instead of a plumber it’s an autoworker and instead of taxes on small businesses his issue is “the president seems to be covering up for a ring of pedophiles.”
“I don’t feel as though fate looks upon you often, and when it does, you better be ready to seize the opportunity,” said TJ Sabula, the UAW worker who heckled President Trump and who Trump flipped off and cursed at. “And today I think I did that.”

I legit forgot Cory Booker existed for a minute.
Asked if he's willing to shut down the government over ICE funding, Senator Cory Booker replies: "We had the longest government shutdown, and Democrats could not hold together to sustain that kind of pressure."

Not all heroes wear capes. Some just spit straight facts regardless of the consequences.

The culture war on wokeness, "DEI", and trans kids was never a distraction, it was the justification for everything else that's followed: razing our hard-earned infrastructure of civil rights and rebuilding American life on the foundation of male dominance and white supremacy.

things off the top of my head that i can think of that conservatives have called tyranny

- health care subsidies
- seeing pronouns in an email
- being suspended from a social media platform
- pride month
- baking a cake for a same sex wedding
- legal rulings against donald trump
- EV benchmarks
Trump's thugs are going hog wild and tossing gas around in one of the busiest commercial districts in Minneapolis, just a mile or so from where I live. Complete insanity.

I'm far from a finance guy, but this seems 1) incredibly bad and unsustainable and 2) the reason why Trump can do a bunch of crazy shit and, by close of the next day, the stock market has somehow barely responded.

Just quietly (or maybe loudly) reduce the funds appropriated to the department. Because, as President, you can just do that now.
they abolished the department of education, we do not need a trojan horse to abolish ice we can just do it

"Violence" in this context means words, whistles, and cameras. They can't handle being called names or having a spotlight on their actions.
Bovino: "The situation has accelerated and I go back to Mayor Frey and Gov. Walz. They're not trying to tamp down violence or anything else. They're actually fomenting violence and ramping the violence up. They're supporting these people."

Quite an indictment on our national security capabilities...
Burgum on the national security "risk" of offshore wind energy: "If you wanted to launch an attack on our population centers, the way you would do it is you'd come through one of these large offshore -- we could have an enemy swam drone attack into a place like the Northeast before we even knew it."

As hilarious as it is to watch these fools slip and bust their ass on the ice and get stuck in the snow, it’s also incredibly telling that they don’t know where they are or what the fuck they’re doing. Just malicious incompetence.
ICE officers slipping on ice while trying to terrorize communities is the most accurate metaphor imaginable. No balance. No footing. No moral ground. Just cruelty, incompetence, and gravity doing its thing.

There should be public dialogue from Dem leaders about what the medium-long term political strategy against Trumpism is. They don't want impeachment (not enough votes) so what can a Dem congress do that's more effective? Is there a philosophy other than "Vote for us and hope something good happens?"

At the beginning of this clip, Murphy is asked about government funding and throws the ball back to republicans.

I would love for a dem politician to instead say, “Government? We don’t have a government right now.” and outline all the ways that this is no longer a functioning democracy.
Chris Murphy: "The amount of training that's given to an ICE officer has been cut in half by this administration. The number of days of training they get are 47. You know why they get 47 days? As an homage to the vanity of POTUS. No wonder the number of violent incidents are going through the roof."
