4 Lakota men were kidnapped by ICE in Minneapolis. 3 of them were taken to what used to be a concentration camp for Native people, and the only people talking about it are other Indigenous people. I am angry but mostly numb, I am so used to this at this point. We are always forgotten.

When Ojibwe harvest wild rice, they sing to it.
Gratitude before taking.
The rice grows better next year.
Science can't explain it.
The elders can.
Everything you take without gratitude eventually becomes poison.
Everything you bless multiplies.

This is the clay of which I am made. Only a part of the Thanksgiving address is used in this post but imagine us as Haudenosaunee, saying this several times a day, and having this mindset in all we do. A thankful mind, a peaceful mind. This for us is a Rational Mind. Colonization is irrational
This Thanksgiving we look to our Haudenosaunee family on a way to give thanks to not just each other, but the natural world around us.

Fine, then give us back the land you stole. Forget the land acknowledgements and return the land in totality...
The truth is, we have our own sovereign nations with working governance systems, including economics, trade, education, etc., and many of you are our guests stealing lands, resources and our children for your agendas and benefits.

My opinion? It feels flat because words are said, but we are not listened to and we see the fires, the waters, the trees, the land, the fish, and people, suffering for the sake of money and the "economy" and business. Learning hasn't happened. Change hasn't happened
Niigaan Sinclair says we’re at a strange point in reconciliation, where gestures like land acknowledgments and federal apologies feel hollow without real change.
