Remember corporate democrats did this because of their rich donors. The rich want us to spend money during the festivities. We need to do the opposite. Buy from small businesses, resellers, thrift stores, swap gifts, or make it yourself, but don't buy from big corporations.

This is by far one of the stupidest things you can do in a dev cycle
So they're going to do this for one, maybe two games. It'll be full speed ahead until it's 6 months from release and the game is falling apart, at which point they'll pay an insane overtime rate for a QA studio to do it last minute which won't be enough.

They couldn’t buy their way to a win. They couldn’t racist their way to a win. There are more of us than them, and we fucking beat them. And we can keep beating them.

Making my @rollingstone.com debut writing about Monolith's incredible F.E.A.R. and how the story's meaning has kind of gotten lost over the years.
Alma isn't F.E.A.R.'s villain. Armacham and the people that made her are. She's as much a victim as anyone else, a spirit of vengeance made, not born.

A @rollingstone.com Halloween special: writer @edgarallanbro.bsky.social looks back at #FEAR, the 2005 horror game whose famous monster has been totally misunderstood for 20 years. It's a great read.

I reviewed Bounty Star for @ign.com. It is the most personal review I've written in a long time (maybe ever) and I'm very proud of it. It would mean a lot to me if you read it.
Full disclosure: I talk about being suicidal for two years in the opening because I had to. This one hit me pretty hard.

Bounty Star Review - IGN
This combination of mech combat and farming is equal parts compelling and tranquil.

Whatever you do, please don’t stop reading.
Read for joy. Read for education. Read for resistance. Read banned books. Read books by marginalized authors. Read about experiences that differ from your own.
Just. Keep. Reading.

good art has no bearing on your morality.
don't twist yourself into knots defending the morality of an artist you like, or denigrating the art of someone evil. you can just accept that good art is not a determiner of morality-- not for its creator, not for its audience, not for its society.

I love Jake <3
Today is Jake's birthday. He is 11 years old. His presents are a big, ethically sourced cat tree (the company plants a tree for each cat tree sold), a new house, and some salmon for dinner. He is a very good cat who wants to be everyone's friend and I hope he lives forever.
