Launching: the Mutualist License.

A humane, modern copyleft license that plays nice with others, and is actually meant to be read.

I genuinely believe it solves a major issue in the #FOSS ecosystem today, and I would love your feedback. #FLOSS #opensource #licensing

Holy shit. The double-think is actually unimaginable.

I think my favorite part is “MAY have killed”.

@kevinmkruse.bsky.social @itsjaymkay.bsky.social
For starters, don't accuse Israel of genocide. Second, killing ≠ murder. Third, what percentage of the ppl Israel may have killed in Gaza were innocent? Some, I'm sure. But how many? Fourth, how does one fight a war without people getting hurt?

@michaelshurkin.bsky.social repeat: how should people criticize the lsraeli government for starving, brutalizing, and murdering thousands of innocent people?

What is the appropriate way to do that without opening themselves up to the criticism that they "get off on accusing Jews of genocide"?

There is nothing more morally bankrupt and intellectually dishonest than pretending that criticism of the state of Israel’s war crimes is actually just antisemitism and yet it’s the only move the dead-end defenders of genocide have left.

Glad to see people talking about Penn Jillette. The 2024 interview was done by me. I found him to be a refreshingly reflective, self-critical individual who has remained curious and willing to evolve.

Working on a thought-tool called "stupid drunk guy in a bar". Works like this: If the take you're responding to is essentially being mumbled by a clearly very stupid drunk guy in the bar you're at, is it worth starting a big public discussion with him?
Today we've decided to center:

- some genre author with fewer than 2k followers who said something insipid about an industry where he has no relevant experience or connection

- a Cato Institute ghoul with the handle "normative" and a substack smugly saying we need to be more serious about eugenics

I made a warm colour theme with full specification. Digital Rust is a warm, tech-dystopian color scheme inspired by corrupted hardware and failing systems. I hope you like it!

Looking back on Flood Order almost 10 years later (January!), I have to say: I am still *really* proud of it. For something written just after Stevenbomb 4, the fact that I would not change one single thing about the order after #StevenUniverse Future/Movie is a testament to how much went into it.

it's not a big deal or anything, but i find it strange that stock Android *still* doesn't let you do anything with custom fonts. it seems such an obvious thing for an open source system.

"It’s basically Groundhog Day."

Israel's violations of the Gaza ceasefire are part of a long pattern of the country breaking truce deals as soon as they are signed, says Palestinian analyst Muhammad Shehada.
“Groundhog Day”: Israel Breaks Ceasefire Again, Kills 104 People in Gaza Including 46 Children
Israel launched major airstrikes on Gaza, killing at least 104 people, including 46 children, in the deadliest attacks since the U.S.-brokered ceasefire was announced. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered “powerful strikes” on Gaza Tuesday ...

One thing you will never ever see is cops actually protecting protesters, regardless of circumstance. It's against their very nature. Even with their city under assault by the federal government, cops go after protesters like dogs after a cat.

Unless those protesters have swastika flags.
Troopers just violently attacked protesters, tackled several, several arrests, shoving activists and press with batons.
