NixOS is sooooo cool which is why it sucks so much that nix (the language) is so stupid.
Who thought that spaces as list delimiters was a good idea? Who thought that semicolons were a good idea?
I get that Turing completeness is a feature and not a bug, but it should not be this terrible to look at.

I’ve been struggling to find the time + motivation to dedicate the time to my homelab it really needs - I have the hardware set up with @siderolabs.com Talos Linux but setting up the apps I want (and there are a lot of them) has been daunting, so I decided to let Claude + copilot + VSCode do it!

@katmabu.bsky.social is the only politician I have seen who is not just campaigning on what they will do when in office but actively making their community better BEFORE THEY ARE EVEN IN OFFICE.
Obviously incumbents can get away with doing less but it shouldn’t be that way.

if dems want messaging help, stop telling people you're "fighting back." it sounds like you're being mugged. call off the podcaster search, take your ridiculous money pile and try opening some food banks and free clinics. hurricanes are coming and the feds have no plan. looks like an opening to me.

I've decided to be crazy and completely blow away my whole cluster setup (again). I'm sticking with @siderolabs.com Talos Linux, but decided to go with argo-cd.readthedocs.io. While I already had CD set up with GitLab, I think this'll be a better UX overall, and I can bring my helmfile with me!

1. Set up backups for my parents. My mom has terabytes of photos that we need to 3:2:1 - I'm hoping to set up a cross backup system so that their stuff backs up to my cluster and vice versa.

Alright, time for #homelab posts!
First up, I'm moving my homelab to Talos (talos.dev) from NixOS. I'm sure NixOS is great but it didn't spark joy. I'm still learning nix through home-manager on my personal machines, but talos is MUCH simpler. Loving it so far!
