of course, there's also absolutely no soul searching or reconsideration on the part of those who spend all their time telling us that "defund the police" is an evil irresponsible request.

activists being told for decades that less money for the police is a ridiculous, irresponsible, impossible demand...and now we see what happens when there is no limit on police funding.

are we safer? is the result of more policing more security? hm.

if you ask students to list the causes of the Irish famine and they just say “the Irish are demonic” can you really not fail that kid?

That TA also wrote a great response explaining that the student didn’t follow the instructions, showed how the argument they did provide was basically contradictory, and even said the student is welcome to disagree with the readings. It wasn’t just “fuck you, bigot.” Maddening.

I’m looking forward to asking my university president next week about how much they will protect instructors and TAs from this bullshit. If I can’t even fail a student for literally not following the assignment instructions, or writing a bad paper, then what the hell is the point of a class?

It seems a lot of people thought he was a lot more injured than he really was, probably stemming from people being confused about where he actually was. I've seen quite a few people online & had three in my watchparty who thought he was in the gun itself & didn't realize he was underneath it.
