Help me understand. For over a decade Republicans have wanted to repeal the ACA and replace it with something better and cheaper, but still have not actually proposed anything tangible to replace it. NOW we are supposed to believe if we reopen the government, they will fix healthcare in two weeks?

I’m reading a book set in 1688 England. It’s good to see we’ve made so much progress over the years in America. They just complain about their workers stealing their livelihood, try to keep their women folk in line and worry about their kids dying of measles.

Watching the tsunami coverage — the scientists explaining, the graphs showing the rise in tidal levels, etc. It’s nice having people who understand the science behind the ocean, weather, climate shifts, etc. We should employ more of those people.
