The letter describes what the agents did to Fuentes as an “abuse of power.” Mayor Brandon Johnson, City Clerk, Anna Valencia and City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin also signed it.

I get that nothing was explicitly stated in the mentioned post but it’s hard to remove the assault from the fact that he “isn’t talked about” anymore…and expressing hurt feelings is not an attack…what *is* an attack is the fact that the dude grabbed people without consent and others defend him

I’m grateful that he has been largely blocked from entering shared spaces but this has only happened after months of harassment and coming forward in hopes of brining it to an end…I hope you can see how painful this has all been

I think the comparison (and the mention itself) is troublesome and hurtful (esp when trya sanchez has never grabbed someone by the genitals, from what I know)…if my assault was brought up publicly alongside a meme, I would also be hurt (ESP when he IS still getting booked, just not around us)

This then led to threats being made to “cancel” the trans empowerment center for not agreeing to make time for a white man and his “accountability”. All that has been asked for has been for the harassment to stop.

I have several screenshots/screen recordings of ppl telling my partner and I to be quiet. Some even started harassing my supervisors (???) by demanding that my place of employment (?????) hold an “accountability meeting” with him. No one has offered support besides our closest friends.

“This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States.”

CHICAGO – Today, Governor JB Pritzker released the following statement after the Illinois National Guard was informed that the Texas National Guard is preparing deployments to Illinois:

“This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.

“We must now start calling this what it is: Trump’s Invasion. It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state’s military troops.

“I call on Governor Abbott to immediately withdraw any support for this decision and refuse to coordinate. There is no reason a President should send military troops into a sovereign state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation.

“The brave men and women who serve in our national guards must not be used as political props. This is a moment where every American must speak up and help stop this madness."

Attacked & arrested protesters at the Broadview detention center w/the help of the ISP other agencies

Tear gassed a street in Logan Square that has a grocery store & elementary school on it, among other things

ICE all across the northwest side of Chicago with hotspots in Hermosa and Belmont Cragin. There is a recent development in Logan square as well around Central Park and armitage where videos and eyewitnesses are sharing tear gas thrown at protesters trying to intervene.
