Trump is not in touch with reality.
Objectively one of the most insane things he has ever posted

Truly horrified by this order in way that is deeper and darker than I have felt over many truly awful merits decisions.
"SCOTUS allows Trump admin to deport people to random countries with no notice"

Honestly still can't believe that I wrote this headline today, let alone that the U.S. Supreme Court's majority did so.
SCOTUS allows Trump admin to deport people to random countries with no notice
Justice Sotomayor called the order a "gross ... abuse" of the court's authority. Also: Law Dork in the media.

Judge Boasberg remained measured despite a Trump DOJ that was giving him the runaround. President Trump’s defiance of Boasberg’s order blocking deportations under the Alien Enemies Act could turn out to be one of the defining stories of our time.

Again, this isn’t their “DEI” nonsense, it’s just racism. Pure and simple.

weird thing about this framing is that this "personal best" is the second lowest for a president at this stage in their administration. the first is trump in his first term.

The big stakes here are not immigration law but the rule of law itself. At the same time the Alien Enemies Act was playing out, the Trump administration apparently deported a professor at Brown University’s medical school in direct contravention of a federal court blocking her expulsion.

You don't need open defiance of an explicit Supreme Court order to prove that an administration is lawless and tyrannical. The Founders would have impeached and removed Trump in the first week.
🚨🚨🚨
So we're hitting the crisis point, with the apparent defiance or evasion of court orders on deportations and immigration, plus shutting down agencies, cancelling grants, and firing civil servants contrary to existing law. And claims from DOJ that Article II of the Constitution enables autocracy.

Ignoring a court order on the grounds that “ah-ah-ah, the law doesn’t apply once you get to international waters!!” is absolutely sanctionable. 8th grade-ass lawyering. Completely unserious.

I couldn't be happier that the Canadians are taking a stand for their freedom, their sovereignty and their way of life. But it is sad and shameful that we in the US have, for absolutely no reason, created a situation in which there is so much enmity toward us from our neighbors.
Canada’s next prime minister, Mark Carney, used his leadership victory speech to warn Canadians that the U.S. “president” wants to “destroy our way of life.”

“America is not Canada. And Canada never, ever, will be part of America in any way, shape or form,” Carney said in his victory…

This is flatly illegal. The plain text of the law says that any person who works for any 501(c)(3) nonprofit is eligible. There is ZERO authority for limiting eligibility based on the work such nonprofit does. They WILL lose the lawsuit. Even so, this is making so many people’s lives harder.
In a move that could upend a popular federal program, President Donald Trump issued an executive order Friday directing his education secretary to revise eligibility requirements for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

The president says some nonprofit organizations that qualify for the program are engaging in illegal activity, without offering any proof.
