Because @jengommerman.bsky.social got so humpty about my response to her musical suggestions 🙄- here is the first public offering of the playlist for immunologists. Need more B cell help. @victora.bsky.social @marionpepper.bsky.social

Asked lots about this piece on Chronic Lyme disease, and disappointed in the @guardian (a publication I both subscribe and contribute to) for running it. Short thread explaining the multitude of problems with it, and why I consider it irresponsible to run as is..🧵

I'm thrilled to announce I'll be joining the Department of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology at the University of Florida in January 2026! My lab will study RNA virus-host interactions with a particular focus on the spatial regulation of viral replication and innate immune activation. genoyerlab.com

The October issue of #Science #Immunology is out now! This week: how #TCR avidity shapes #CD8 #TCell responses to #mRNA #vaccines and the latest research on the immunology of #brain #tumors reviewed! New content added every week!

Decoding the Brain Tumor Immune Microenvironment. Brain tumors originate either from within the brain or as metastases from other tissues and pose major clinical challenges because of their heterogenous and aggressive nature. Bunse et al. review the cellular and molecular determinants of brain tumor antigenicity and factors that contribute to the immunosuppressive brain tumor microenvironment (TME). This month’s cover illustration depicts distinct malignant glioma (upper left) and metastatic (bottom right) TMEs as collages of aperiodic penrose tiles overlaid on a stylized positron emission tomography (PET) scan of the brain.

Hearing from someone in NIH program:

“Our final Task Order for $6.2M went out today. Every obstacle DOGE put up to keep us from funding new TOs and extending others was overcome. My fired contract officers were rehired. It was a lot of work, but we did it.
For now.”

Hello everyone! I am a postdoc in mucosal immunology and I am looking for new postdoc position in Europe! I know a lot about gut mast cells, but also CD4 T cells and type 2/3 immunity in general. I've worked with single cell sequencing and neuroimmune interactions. Feel free to share! Thank you! ♥️🥼👩‍🔬

Extremely happy to see our work out in #ScienceImmunology. We show allergen-induced ECM remodelling occurs independently of IL-13 or IL-17 driven inflammation. Rather chitinase-like proteins drive airway ECM accumulation & inhibition of Ym1 can remarkably reverse it. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Allergen-induced airway matrix remodeling in mice can be prevented or reversed by targeting chitinase-like proteins
Allergic airway matrix remodeling occurs independently of IL-13 and IL-17A and is driven instead by chitinase-like proteins.
