Annual job growth still stuck firmly in the negative - running just short of 30,000 below the same week last year. Misery compounds. (1/2)

Big Mac is one of our house dogs. He is slowing down a lot recently.

He has complete free reign with us and even a job guarding the kitchen where we cook all the food. He is also chief food tester there.

I love the old guys so much ❤️

It's unbelievable that this article

"Government’s books show finance minister borrowing billions to keep the lights on"

does not once mention the $12to$14Billion tax cut cost they are borrowing to cover, nor the Billions they stole from Pay Equity Fund #NZPol
Government’s books show finance minister borrowing billions to keep the lights on
Treasury has revealed the state of the Government’s finances and it shows we’re borrowing just to keep the lights on.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

I can’t work out who Luxon thinks he appeals to?

Women ❌
Young people ❌
Students❌
Poor and middle class❌
those with savings❌
Pensioners ❌
People with a mortgage❌

The only person left is a male farmer somewhere who grows their own food and also happens to be a landlord!

Fucksake. It's quite clear now that they only looked at this benefit policy as political marketing and took no advice on who it would impact – which includes young people with serious health issues and disabilities. Just feckless and cynical. Shame on them. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
Hundreds of teens with a health condition, disability may be cut from Jobseeker benefit
The government is ending Jobseeker payments to 18- and 19 year olds whose parents earn more than $65,000.

Just for clarity, the unemployment numbers under this government may look terrible, but keep in mind, Luxon has driven tens of thousands of Kiwis overseas as well, so its actually far worse. These numbers are just the ones that couldnt leave.

The smug condescension delivered by Willis on the subject indicates the everything is going exactly to her plan, but it's not the same plan she made available to the public.💩😡

There is also a risk that in the short run we will be driving higher inflation. A lower OCR means a lower NZ$. That likely means higher petrol prices and higher imported food, energy, and goods pricing. That will put further pressure on inflation- likely to breach 3% soon.

#nzpol The Reserve Bank has cut the official cash rate by 0.5%. That sounds great. But banks only cut interest rates that much when the economy is in trouble - and not when things are going well. This cut is a sign of economic weakness, not strength. A 😄🧵

Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

Reuters photographer Jonathan Ernst noticed that Bondi flipped open a file during the Senate hearing and he zoomed in.

Inside were her crib notes for attacking the senators.

The GOP now practicing Cliff's Notes Fascism

In other words, under oath Bondi was purely a performance.

As expected, Orr's $400,000 pay off was deigned to silence Orr & prevent him from speaking up about Nicola Willis & Neil Quigley.

A reminder Neil Quigley lied about Orr's departure for over 6 months until the Ombudsman forced RBNZ's hand. Willis covered it up #nzpol
