For the second time in my life, I have purchased book 5/5 without 1-4.

My defence the first time? Cool cover, I was 6, and I didn’t understand the implication of “series” or why my mom kept telling me it was book 5 in the series like it was a bad thing.

My defence this time? Cool cover. 😎

My favourite thing about those book apps, aside from a convenient place to remind myself of books I want to read, is the end of year graphic where I am reminded of all the amazing books I had the pleasure of spending time with 🥰

Based on the marked drop in quality with nearly every app and website I regularly use … I’d say definitely they’ve decided they’re ok with the drop in quality. I can only assume they have compared the bottom line and realized the savings in labour outweigh any potential loss of business.
Fast, cheap or good: pick two. The promise of AI tools is that they are much faster and cheaper than people and almost as good.

AI generated code has 1.7x the bugs of human authored code. The key question is will businesses increase quality control of AI output or will they tolerate lower quality?
AI-generated code contains more bugs and errors than human output

Just upgraded to the latest iPhone iOS, and I gotta say … 🤮🤮🤮
This whole “glass look” is a big swing and a miss for me, the beveled highlights make every app on my screen feel highlighted and screaming at me, on top of looking like cheap plexiglass pieces in a child’s toy phone.

You know when you read the jacket cover of a novel and you’re like 👀👀enemies to lovers? 🥺🥺
But then you start reading and are like oh right no way, too dark.
But then 100pgs in you read a passage like this and like … 👀👀👀 enemies to lovers right?? “Uwu I hate you, coward, feel ALL my loathing” 😈🥺😈🥺

I encourage you to read her full comments, not because they exculpatory — they absolutely are not — but because they're dangerously close to self awareness about the trap that hasbarists find themselves in.

My current absolutely not a problem-problem is why do websites not prominently (or even in their shipping/faq) say what country they’re located in. I want to know if I’m paying in CAD or USD and if I’m going to get slapped with tarrifs. Why is this so hard?
