Traditions are great because sometimes it really is as simple as, in 1972 Lieutenant Nils Egelien thought penguins were nifty, and there was a bureaucratic process to formalize that.

There is one good energy drink and it is Full Throttle, because Full Throttle is more or less Solo with Anxieties.

The Yanks do not want you to be happy though and so the energy market is either "liquid gumballs" or "what if water were wrong".

The original genus/species name, Platypus anatinus ("flat-foot, duckish") had to be revised because of a namespace collision with a genus of weevil, so now it's Ornithorhynchus anatinus ("bird-beak, duckish")

I dunno man, this one really hits my professional pride, you lose control once and the records are irreversibly tainted, and I do not trust the guys shooting people to be fastidious in preserving evidence for conclusions they dislike.

Yeah sure let's fuck up election records, let's make it clear that conducting an auditable election means less than shit. Did you work hard to run things properly? Maybe you'll catch some specious federal charges you dumb fuck. The NYT will publish a story about you calling your grandma a butthead.

One day I will sit down and learn how we know how sounds drift over time, etymologists really are out here like "oh yeah dude, the English 'home' from OE 'hām' has the same root as Sanskrit 'śētē' - we assume it looked like 'ḱey'"

It means to make something nifty or peachy (i.e. "keen").
Example use: "This jacket is a little worn, but I'm keening it up with some buttons I got at a craft fair."
