Grateful for Carly’s writing always but also for this post for informing me that Bluesky had child lock default settings on, that has now been changed
After weeks of work and life conspiring against me, I finally wrote about #HeatedRivalry Episode 4, what criticisms of the show's sex scenes are overlooking, and why one moment in particular is more about what goes unspoken between Shane and Ilya. Call it a scene analysis!
'Heated Rivalry's Steamiest Episode Yet Becomes Its Most Painful With 1 Crucial Scene
Heated Rivalry Episode 4 delivers the show's steamiest moments yet, but also ends with a devastating exchange between Shane and Ilya.

I wish I could convince espn that the one angle of volleyball is the perfect angle and they do not need to try any other angles

The announcer for the Ottawa Toronto pwhl game keeps saying how heated this rivalry is and I’m wondering if she’s seen the gay hockey show or if it’s just coincidence

If women are underrepresented in STEM, it's at least partly because men like this offer mentoring, then embarrass themselves by assuming their mentees must be into them, then decide the best solution is to cut ties, which sends the signal to other faculty that the mentee must not be good enough.

One of the things that bothers me about transphobia as a word - see also islamophobia etc. - is that, no, no it's not a *phobia* it's not arachnophobia or pyrophobia or things that actually relate to someone being scared, it's hatred and bigotry that is often finessed into a grift.
From @karleighchardonnay.bsky.social at Outsports:

Jennifer Sey, who said the NWSL had “several males” has issued a $10,000 bounty to the next player to “speak out like Elizabeth Eddy.” An anonymous donor added $5000. Clay Travis said he’d double it.

Eddy has a new teammate who is Black and from Zambia, who is open about being intersex (assigned female at birth/not trans) and people thinking she's male because of what she wears.

Between that and them sharing the bench/competing for minutes, hard not to see this as a very mean personal attack.
Deeply disappointed in Liz Eddy here, who I've always liked and respected. A reminder that we have a lot of work to do when it comes to educating the public about why trans inclusion isn't just morally correct, but competitively sound share.google/Gjf9a1Sl01eL...

I also still think the more rigorous schedule, lack of rest, and small roster size are the BIGGEST contributor to the increase in injuries we've seen this season. Reffing is bad but if we want to take better care of players, schedule & roster size need to be addressed too.

i have to say, as a trans journalist who has covered the "trans debate" for about a decade now, there is no daylight between how the trump administration and conservatives lie about tylenol and autism and how they've lied about youth trans care.
