Country fans are upset with Zach Bryan after he criticized ICE in a song.

But don't let it be known that Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and Johnny Cash all despised fascism and leaned heavily to the left.

The acting CDC Director has no knowledge, training or experience in science/public health. Trump has no knowledge, training or experience in science/public health.

Both are calling to make the MMR vaccine into 3 separate shots, which makes absolutely no scientific or public health sense.
Acting CDC boss wants to break up MMR vaccine into three shots
Jim O’Neill joins President Donald Trump’s call for three distinct measles, mumps and rubella shots, claiming a separation would ‘reduce the risk of side effects’ and ‘maximize parental choice’

Today my @nytimes.com colleagues and I are launching a new series called Lost Science. We interview US scientists who can no longer discover something new about our world, thanks to this year‘s cuts. Here is my first interview with a scientist who studied bees and fires. Gift link: nyti.ms/3IWXbiE

Bloomberg research found wholesale electricity up ~270% in areas near data centers

It doesn't seem like nearly enough people are taking it seriously

One A.I. image isn't too much energy, but 5 million videos? Per day/hour/minute whatever. It's not sustainable

AI Data Centers Are Sending Power Bills Soaring
Wholesale electricity costs as much as 267% more than it did five years ago in areas near data centers. That’s being passed on to customers.

Never forget that Dolly Parton gave a million bucks for covid research at the *very start* of the pandemic—including money that helped fund the development of the Moderna vaccine.

At this same event...another guy said I needed to drive down Sand Hill Road and get some VC money. Hahahahhah

First of all, that's not how art funding works. Second, even when I was working in tech...that wouldn't have worked..VC guys do NOT throw money at women unless she's dancing at a strip club

blah blah on Fox re how great it is to get real masculinity back in charge! huh? Real men who are so scared they wear masks, slam women to the
floor, break into apartments & tie up women & children. Then masculine Speaker gives
HOUSE a vacation out of deep fear of Epstein files.
Cowards all.

He also seemed shocked that little me, at an art fair, might actually be more financially successful than he was. Honestly, that might be what actually shook him.

And the whole idea of making art, and not just always chasing money, might be a successful life?

I was being kind in my paraphrasing. He said something more like "I don't think my taxes should be used to let people mess around with making art".

Like it was an offense to his whole empty pursuit of extracting wealth.

Yeah. He was a shit.

And I still pay more taxes than he does.
kristinhenry.bsky.social
Honestly, I think I shook him a bit. Like, he had never thought of that. Or that I probably pay more taxes than he does. Ha!

I remember talking with a guy at one of my shows, with my art, and I mentioned how some other countries supported the arts a lot more than we do here in the US.

He said "I don't think I'd like my taxes to be supporting arts".

I replied "I don't like my taxes paying for bombs."

He seemed shocked

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

OMG 😭

Huntington's is an inherited disease that's like Alzheimers + Parkinson's all in one. NOW: "once the gene therapy has been delivered into the brain... [it] injects a piece of DNA to reprogram the neuron to become a factory for its own cure."

Do not sacrifice yourself or your family for work.

You and your loved ones deserve a full life that isn't burdened by career aspiration resentment.

You are not your job. You are so much more than your job.

Burnout can kill you.
