Greta Thunberg speaks to the press after being released from illegal detainment in Israel: "I could talk for a very, very long time about our mistreatment and abuses in our imprisonment. Trust me, but that is not the story.”

This woman is amazing, not making her capture & mistreatment the story, keeping all eyes on Gaza and their plight against a genocidal regime. She is the best of us. Our governments around the world must act. Stop the genocide.

"A “win-win” between the victims of genocide and the perpetrators? He said that. Why not a win-win between the scorched rubble of Hiroshima and the nuclear bomb?"

Politicians taking a 'head in the sand' approach to climate change is bad enough. Undertaking a detailed national climate risk assessment and withholding it from the public is malicious on an even higher level.

This is a crisis. Not something to be politically managed.

Labor keeps ‘dire’ climate report under wraps
The government has delayed the release of a “shocking” assessment of climate change’s effect on the economy, just weeks before its 2035 target decision.

Words have had no effect.
Sanctions now. Travel restrictions - against all members of the government and IDF, and their families. Freeze assets and all trade. Kick out diplomats. Enforce ICC findings. Pressure Israel’s active supporters. Anything but this.
Australia strongly rejects Israel's plan to seize Gaza City
The foreign ministers of Australia, Germany, Italy, New Zealand and the United Kingdom say this decision will "risk violating international humanitarian law".

Hey ABC - can we stop calling them "settlers", which sounds like a benign homesteading movement.

As Israeli human rights groups themselves say, those Israelis trying to displace Palestinians in the #WestBank are terrorists:
state-sanctioned terrorists. #StopIsrael

'Now, there's nothing stopping them': Settlers trying new forms of intimidation
In the Jordan Valley in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, teenage shepherds escorted by armed security guards are trying to push Palestinian villagers from their farms.

A thread you can direct some action to this Monday morning. The damage the policy has done, and the mindset it encourages, is significant and ongoing.

An Arts degree is good for so much more than getting a job (which it also does, contrary to popular mythology).

Open letter against the adoption of the Australian Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism’s Plan: "These proposed measures have nothing to do with combating antisemitism, and everything to do with limiting and censoring criticism of Israel and stifling freedom of speech on Palestine."
