Hey, as a librarian I have to tell you

You don't have to finish a book that doesn't interest you. Life's too short for that. Not your jam? You have my permission to move on to the next book.

While I have plenty of beef with other stuff Newsom has done, this is exactly what we need right now
Newsom: "He doesn't play by a different set of rules. He doesn't believe in the rules. As a consequence, we need to disabuse ourselves of the way things have been done. It's not enough to just hold hands, have a candlelight vigil, talk about way the world should be...we have got to meet fire w/fire"

In Minnesota, we’ve lowered prescription drug costs, stabilized insurance costs, and lifted the burden of medical debt.

And now we just ranked the third-best state for health care.

I found this reply interesting ("Can those foreign companies open shop in the US?")

I don't think Japanese or South Korean menswear can be made in the US. At least, not without losing something. Let's explore why. 🧵

Next time you visit York, take note of this carving of a plague doctor outside York Minster Cathedral. It was recently carved out of magnesian limestone to replace figures eroded by time, as part of the ongoing restoration of the East Front. I love this little fellow.

The axolotl possesses a science fiction-like superpower: the ability to regenerate entire limbs. But how does an amputated limb know where to regenerate from? This mystery of “positional identity” has fascinated scientists for decades.
Scientists Discover the Key to Axolotls’ Ability to Regenerate Limbs
A new study reveals the key lies not in the production of a regrowth molecule, but in that molecule's controlled destruction. The discovery could inspire future regenerative medicine.
