Threadnought led to a law degree. Those windmills know why I’m tilting at them, and they deserve it. Pay me to fight a good fight while I am studying for the bar.

From #threadnaught to the other side of the bar. I passed the Texas bar after being inspired to join the legal field by the tireless efforts in pursuit of justice @gregdoucette.bsky.social, @kathryntewson.bsky.social, @akivamcohen.bsky.social, and many others. Thank you to all I’ve learned from

So my 2025 started with a literal dumpster fire at my apartment. (Don’t play with fireworks in the middle of an apartment complex, kids)

These writers really need to learn about subtext, but that’s pretty good “show, don’t tell.”

So tired of people complaining about this. Low pay for the office means only the rich and the corrupt can afford to serve. It incentivizes accepting bribes and inappropriate gifts.

I’d like to see this number doubled and tied to strong anti-corruption legislation. Better carrot, bigger stick.
BREAKING: The new spending bill gives Congress their first pay raise since 2009.

A pay increase for members of Congress from $174,000 to $243,000 per year.

I used to be skeptical of bowl cozies, until my wife and I moved in together. She grew up using them and converted me. They are awesome when you reheat soup in the microwave.

At the core of GOP conservatism since the 1930s has been the desire to roll back the New Deal. For all its putative “populism,” Trumpism is, on balance, more a part of this tradition than a diversion from it.
The Trump crowd wants to kill FDIC, install tariffs *and* bring back polio?

I guess all this time the magical past of American Greatness they’ve been aiming for has been the banner year of 1930.

Can’t wait for the soup lines! Wheee!

walking the streets of Toronto at 2am, a Tasmanian Tiger crosses my path. we stare at each other.

it knows I'm practicing poor sleep hygiene. I know that it went extinct 90 years ago.

we nod at each other - agreeing to keep each other's secret - and carry on walking

Sarris is great. Whoever chose the headline needs to do better. The article’s premise is that data use is so ubiquitous that just collecting data no longer confers an advantage. You use analytics or you lose. That isn’t data “dying”. That is data being incorporated into the fabric of the game.

Pastor hit upon something here: Some people do believe people who read the instructions are their enemy. It makes them feel stupid. That makes them feel inferior, and 90% of this nation’s current problems can be boiled down to “You think you’re better than me?”
there is no way you believe the enemy this great nation are the people who actually read the instructions before getting started

Either they are going to find a dragon’s hoard of porn on his computer or he is a longtime member of r/NoFap. This post reads like a person with a pornography addiction that they are trying to blame on the world.

What is the purpose of the pardon? One assumes the framers included this power to prevent or correct an injustice.

So did President Biden correct an injustice by pardoning his son Hunter?
