I try and avoid political posts because… well… *gestures*, but I am *still* seeing posts from Americans talking about stuff that the “next president” will have to clean up after “the next election” and it blows my mind that even despite… well… *gestures*, they still think there’ll be one.

How bad are the Epstein files that the US government is willing to invade the whole world?

The struggle of our day is no longer about Democrats versus Republicans or left versus right.

The choice right now is democracy or dictatorship.

Everyone must choose which side they’re on.

You know what would be a great way to get even more people available to protect their communities from ICE?

A general strike

I often think about how The Jetsons claimed to be futuristic, but was actually a very ordinary "white patriarchy - with robots."

And the fact that the AI Bros grew up dreaming of precisely that identical future is the reason we're regressing and progressing in idiotically clashing ways in 2025. 🧵👇🏼

The paperback edition of #OnFreedom is out today. It preserves a positive argument about how to build a better country and has been updated to account for what has happened in 2025.

Here is my best guidance for action, rendered beautifully by the great John Lithgow. I first published these lessons more than eight years ago, in late 2016. They open the twenty chapters of "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century."

Remember: Wealth can’t be separated from power. Power begets wealth and wealth begets power. We're seeing in real time how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging our markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of billionaires.

What we’re witnessing in America is what happens when disordered discourse captures a political party, then the state itself. The Republican Party was the first to fall - abandoning truth for conspiracy, ideology for grievance, and policy for performative outrage.

I am almost relieved that this happened in front of cameras for the whole world to witness. No more backrooms, no more facades of reasonableness or bargaining. We now know what side the United States is on, and in whose interests they’re acting. It isn’t their people’s, and it isn’t ours
