“Things happen.”

Jamal Khashoggi was a journalist and Washington Post columnist who was literally murdered and dismembered by agents of the Saudi government inside a Saudi consulate.

Shameful. So shameful.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

America is meant to be a bastion of free speech.

Everybody across the political spectrum should be speaking out to stop what’s happening to Jimmy Kimmel.

This is about protecting democracy.

This must go to court.

ned is exactly right. the challenge is reconnecting the democratic party to a mass constituency and building real affinity between voters and the party. it would be more worthwhole to put $10 million into piloting democratic clubs and associated newspapers bsky.app/profile/resn...
This is the whole thing right here. All these tired fights about whether Dems should moderate are ways of dancing around the real problem, which is the that political parties no longer have any mass constituency.
In many countries, (esp. white, male) workers increasingly vote for radical right parties. Still, a sole focus on right-wing ideology only captures a narrow part of working class consciousness. Most workers, including many right-wing voters, are politically demobilized and distant from all politics.

At the time Cassidy was a yes vote on RFK, we already knew his hobbies were driving around with a dead bear in a car (and maybe a falcon) and burying the body in Central Park. We knew he had a brain worm. We knew he chainsawed the head off a dead whale. We knew he sounded like a Coinstar. Cmon now.
4) Entering today, there was much speculation about whether Cassidy would be an RFK investigator or Trump appeaser.

But Cassidy was pretty forceful — he asked direct questions, he vouched for vaccines, and he chastised Markwayne Mullin for claiming to have a secret tape recording of Monarez-RFK Jr.

Meanwhile in Korean media there is clarity that Trump directed this raid out of spite following his Oval Office meeting with the ROK President, who pushed back aggressively on Trump's praise for the North Korean dictator. They're right. US media have no clue of what's going on.

This story is WILD. Trump sent Seal Team 6 into North Korea to plant a listening device. The entire thing went sideways within minutes of landing when they noticed a fishing boat near the beach. They killed everyone on board, sunk the bodies to cover their tracks, and fled. Congress was never told.

One thing about never-Trump Republicans, during Trump II particularly: They understand that the world they knew is dead.

They have no investment in either reviving the former GOP (because they understand it's impossible) or maintaining the pre-2016 Democratic Party (because it's not their party).

If Trump isn't dead: I'm sure waking up to the entire internet prematurely celebrating will be welcomed graciously by his ego.

Aren't all the people who took the govt buyout going to come onto the unemployment market in September?
GOLDMAN: “.. the revised payroll trajectory now constitutes .. the ‘downside labor market risks’ cited by Chair Powell .. investors should take the weak signal seriously. And while the unemployment rate has moved up only very slowly .., a further rise may re-awaken ‘Sahm rule’-type recession fears.”
