The M8.7 aftershocks are distributed on a ~ 350-km long x 100 km wide area.
But actually the seismic crisis bagan on July 20 in #Kamtchatka. The foreshock sequence was concentrated on the north-east end of the rupture.

🌡️ Ce samedi 5 avril à Paris, la température a atteint près de 26°C faisant de la ville la capitale la plus chaude en Europe. Par le passé, les 26 °C ont déjà été atteints à la station plus tôt dans l’année, le 31 mars 2021, ou encore le 3 avril 1946.

🌀Situation post-cyclone #Garance. Grâce à la forte mobilisation des équipes de l’OVPF-IPGP, l’observatoire a de nouveau le contact avec 65% de ses stations sur le terrain (contre 15% à la fin du cyclone).
L'OVPF-IPGP reste mobilisé pour remettre en état ce réseau le plus rapidement possible.

Hi Seismo-Bluesky! I decided to test a pipeline with SeisBench, PyOcto, NonLinLoc, and HypoDD on the Santorini sequence. The level of activity (>4,500 events) is truly stunning! There are repeated bursts migrating backwards and forwards, spreading outwards from a narrow, almost linear channel.

Some of you were waiting for it: Here's our new data visualisation of the earthquakes near #Santorini, provided by our colleague Marius Paul Isken, and located with pyrocko/qseek. It includes yesterday's quakes and starts January 29. Marius included a nice twist, so to speak. Wait for it.
