Musician, ridiculously lucky husband, world’s greatest dad (I have the coffee mug to prove it!)
There’s something about the open sea that just gets in your soul.
I just wanna be out on blue water for a couple weeks. Enjoy the mundane. Feel that sea spray. Watch that seemingly endless sky change over seemingly endless water. Fall asleep rocked by the shooting of the catapults.

I’ve walked with a cane for many years now. At one point I was in a wheelchair, then a walker, then back to a cane. I’ve worked hard for the last few years and can now go to the store unassisted. I still use a cane in airports or other walking intensive activities. Mind your own business or fuck off
This was also my dad and stepmom; at then end neither one of them could have survived a hike but they could walk to their seats.
YOU DUMB FUCKS. THIS IS ME.

I have a scooter. I can walk. I can't, however, walk through 80 miles of airport. I can walk onto an airplane or through hallways. I can't walk the .5 mile to the convention center.

People, get smarter, it's embarrassing at this point.

Well, today is quite the day. My oldest turned 24 (can’t believe it) and finished her 1st semester of law school, my little finished her 1st semester of college, and my nephew is currently graduating, a semester early, with his bachelor’s as we speak. So proud of these kiddos!!!

In order to find the motivation to get on the treadmill, I just housed an epic plate of breakfast enchiladas and chilaquiles and now I must either get on or be miserably full for the rest of the day.

For those of you who are of a certain age, I am proud to announce that I have taken the “moist maker” to it’s evolutionary conclusion. Instead of a barbaric slice of gravy soaked bread, I have discovered gravy soaked stuffing. The world may never be the same

Having both of our kids under our roof makes me feel whole in a way I can’t explain. (Our oldest, who wasn’t sure they could make it for than a few hours on Thursday, walked in the door about an hour ago.)

Alright skeeters, I need a ruling. For reasons, I’m not allowed to get on ladders when my wife is gone. But surely, if I’m just standing on the kitchen counters that’s not technically a ladder right???

Since leaving for college (we only live two hours away) my youngest has not been able to surprise their mom coming home. My wife literally senses a disturbance in the force. Until tonight!!

So I can see that a lot of people are rightfully upset that senate democrats caved, and they did cave. But I think it’s important to be honest and plain spoken about why because that is where I think our anger and resolve should directed. Quite simply, the president of the United States-

I pray that all my brothers and sisters get an ounce of comfort on this day as we come together to celebrate our shared heritage of 250 years.

Whether you are at a glittering ball, stuck in a fighting hole or knee deep in the shit of the day, remember that we what we make of ourselves.

Sitting here waiting for my wife to get done with work listening to Izzy Stradlin & the JuJu Hounds and I must say, damn, this was a great record!

Children are not responsible for their parents abilities or shitty choices.
When my father died, our mother would vanish for days at a time. My 14 yo sister did her best to feed me but often, the free lunch I got at school was the only meal of the day.
“Why should I help cover the cost of someone else’s shitty parenting?” Because they’re children, Susan, and we live in a society.
I don't (and stats say almost certainly won't) have kids, and I just cannot fathom people being opposed to universal free school lunch. Even if it raised my taxes -- which I'm not even sure it would given the lack of spending on admin -- it would be a minuscule cost for an obvious gain.

Cuts to social safety net programs to pay for corporate and wealthy tax cuts has long been a staple of the GOP platform. What this lady is inadvertently admitting to is the she voted for the new platform of overt persecution
The hypocrisy of the republican voter.

Yet, they STILL support them. When will they learn that their party doesn’t give two shits about their families?

Saw a post earlier that could’ve used this response. It may shock some, but in order to refuse an unlawful order, you must first be given an unlawful order. “Stand in front of this building” isn’t an unlawful order. It may not be time to build the gallows just yet
There's a maximalist hysteria to it - "the troops better resist exactly as much as I want them to or we're sending Pvt Snuffy from Ohio to Nuremberg" coupled with a total unreality about the situation. It's fucking stupid and it is way too dominant of a discourse type on here.

And just like that, our journey as custodial parents is drawing to a close. On Sunday we take our youngest down to move into the dorms to start her college career as the oldest starts law school on Monday. Tuesday we come home to an empty house and start the next chapter. Yes, I’m still in denial

This is funny as fuck! I sometimes wonder if my northern brethren feel this way about the furnace but, honestly, they’re not comparable. You can survive 30 degrees inside with some extra blankets. 102 upstairs in Mississippi, you gon die necked
I’ve watched this god knows how many times since I first saw it and always have to share it
This is one of the most beautiful things I have witnessed, the craft here is impeccable.

The founders aren’t rolling in their graves, they are clawing at their coffins
For the record, our division commander BANNED things called “presence patrols” in Iraq.

“If you don’t have a specific task & purpose, your ‘presence’ doesn’t do anything.”

National Guard stating they are now doing presence patrols in DC.

A complete waste of soldier’s time & effort.
