These numbers are not surprising to me having covered it, but it is stark seeing it laid out like this and I’m glad the Times put this together.

Just this week, someone told me they wished I would stop including the appointing president in stories, and I was like, “Not a chance.” This is why.
Trump's appellate judges have formed a nearly united phalanx to defend his agenda from legal challenges. How often they ruled for him in 2025:

Trump appointees: 92%
Other Republican appointees: 68%
Democratic appointees: 27%

i suspect there are a lot of morons in a lot of european capitals right now wringing their hands about the risk of escalation. here's the truth: the real risk is failure to escalate. backing down is showing weakness. trump will know it.

the only strategic reason for Trump to want Greenland as official US territory is if he intends to end/leave NATO, abandon W Europe (and Japan/Taiwan/ S Korea), and hunker down in the W Hemisphere

which is clearly what he wants

I have been as impressed by the normal people of this country as I have been disgusted by elite institutions and every bit of optimism I have that we are going to make it comes from that
It's incredibly demoralizing to constantly see the highest institutions of government and academia and the most important and widely seen news outlets knuckle under one after another, but then to see the gulf between that and the bravery of communities and neighbors and teachers - that's something

BREAKING: CDC switches US public health to match Denmark!

No, not Denmark's universal healthcare coverage, paid parental leave, paid childcare or paid sick leave.

They instead just copied Denmark's recommended vaccine schedule to remove 6 vaccines.

That should make us healthy again, right?

Bc some are asking, reupping my comment abt machine gun charges.

They're not surprising charges, & there are overt acts abt trading weapons to FARC for cocaine in indictments. Maduro's co-conspirator pled to them in June, AFTER SCOTUS' bump stock ruling.

But Maduro will surely challenge them.
A comment on the inclusion of machine gun charges in the Maduro indictment. I laughed and I do think it ridiculous that DOJ included it even while DOJ is suing DC to force it to accept semi-automatic weapons.

It's a traditional charge designed to up sentences.

It’s about oil and regime change.

And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.
