Any other tech folks out there have any advice for how to work in an industry that is actively participating in a genocide, without losing what remains of your mind?

I still vividly remember the first time I saw WFG.
A recording of a stage production that was on RTÉ at some ungodly hour of the morning in my parent's house. I had heard very little about it before then and it was some experience.

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

One scenario involves wealthy people giving working people money.
The other largely involves wealthy people giving other wealthy people money.

It’s a "crisis" when immigrants "take jobs away", but "innovation" when machines do. Funny.

I was thinking about it last night and started to wonder if allowing them to continue calling it a crisis is falling into their PR trap?
If they call it a crisis, it gives the impression that they see it as temporary, when they very much don't if their track record is any indicator.
larry1ill.bsky.social
Is it accurate to call it a crisis if it continues for decades?
A crisis is usually something unexpected and you seek to solve it as effectively as possible.
Successive governments have displayed no willingness to act effectively to solve this.
It's not a crisis, it's a consequence of their policy.

Survivors of childhood abuse (now aged in their 60's & 70's) are on day 16 of hunger strike outside the Dail over redress.
Why is the State treating victims so abysmally that elderly people are hunger striking and sleeping on the streets to get justice? #Speirgorm

More Irish activists have now been taken by the IDF from international waters including author Naoise Dolan, TD Barry Heneghan and psychiatrist Veronica O’Keane.

They are part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition.

Got to love Dublin. #Speirgorm
Picture of a large junction box on the street at the top of Kildare Street at Stephen’s Green in Dublin, Ireland. On it is painted a very large, angry-looking seagull in front of two wooden gates. Two tiny people, dwarfed by the seagull, appear to be running from it, one on either side of the lower front of the image. The text over the gates reads St Stephen’s Green. The signature in the lower right of the image says M. Fitz 25.

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

"Gavin has shown himself unfit to be President. This is why we should let our current President take a third term, despite his age. Who cares what the constitution says."

And then you said something about common sense.
Not sure what you meant by this mechanical response.
