I’m going to put my rich guy hat on and say I hope that Mexico and Canada issue equal, retaliatory tariffs and stick to them for an extended period.

The most surreal and maddening feature of the campaign was that everyone agreed that high prices were the main issue but the guy explicitly, consistently running on a platform of raising everyone’s prices won voters most concerned about high prices.

Hypothetically,If FEMA goes away, what happens to home owners and other insurance rates ?
Climate change looks like it will make rates so high, home insurers will want equity in your house as a way of holding down rates

I wonder how much the dissolution of FEMA and cancellation of flooding infrastructure programs is going to increase insurance premiums?
Especially as the population ages, inflation spikes, and a large % of housing stock is used as short term rentals in high risk areas.

So far, the only thing Trump has done to help lower costs for his base (who supposedly voted him in to lower their cost of living) has done the opposite; his actions on the first day will increase the price of groceries and prescription drugs.

Best thing we can do right now is focus on our personal health - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual - to prepare for what’s to come.
There is shit that's going to happen that many people aren't prepared to respond in a manner that doesn't grind them down.
