Seems like a lot of folks might need to hear this today. Some fortitude for the weekend and days ahead 🧡
I stitched this old tweet by @ladyofsardines.bsky.social and remind myself of its truth literally every day.

Excellent list of digital accessibility resources. Thanks, Crystal!
Here is a non-exhaustive list of books, sites, and courses I recommend for those new to digital accessibility or those already in the field who seek to continue their education. These are the resources I constantly use to further my understanding and knowledge

Delightful watch! I, too, am a DNF’er. My reading list is too long for me to stick around for a bad time. I may return to something later depending on the reasons for bailing in the first place.
This was hugely fun to do: with @shawnthebookmaniac.bsky.social @chriswolak.bsky.social @ds228.bsky.social on our philosophies of bailing on books:
Ok my hair is particularly tragic in this episode but it was a delight to be back with @shawnthebookmaniac.bsky.social and other bookish folk to talk about not finishing books!

Paul Celan said that the poem was no different from a handshake... The handshake is our decided ritual of both asserting (I am here) and handing over (here) a self to another. Hence the poem is that—Here. I am here.

Please tag anyone who fits this bill and is posting/blogging/talking about the EAA from their POV! Please feel free to repost! 💙

*Looking for volunteers!* I along with the help of a few others are building a Mask Recommender Based on Facial Features. TLDR: Goal: scan a face with a phone to get accurate facial measurements, and get a list of masks that have high probability of fitting that individual's face.

Plain language is communication that your audience can understand the first time they hear or read it. This varies by audience, of course. What is common vocabulary for academics won't necessarily be common for chemists, clergy, or engineers. Know your audience.

Accessibility is not just semantic HTML.
Accessibility is not just color contrast
